Allo! Been a while. Been super busy. Just doodle painted this tonight for an hour. Acrylic. My mind is a strange place.

I've been animating. Er, I should say falling in love. GOD I wish I'd majored in it or something. Yeahhh I'm just doing flash right now, but I love it.

Today marks day 3 of the second week of me ever animating. Here's some stuff I did last week and then yesterday...

Not bad for barely a week at it and barely a month at flash!!

Today I animated icicles melting/dripping, and tomorrow I'm wrapping that up and working on fire.

Man, I am nerding out about these things, but I realllly enjoy my job. :)

started fiddling with gouache. this boy happened.

That skull's probably going to be my header for my business cards, etc. Header. heh. geddit?

more 40 minute or so speedpaints on the train. spent more time on the skull for fun's sake.

bottom one is me. I tried a few other self- portraits and oy. I can draw ANYONE else pretty well but I just have a horrific time painting moi.

I'm back in Rochester. NYC was nice. The concert was amazing.

I've decided I am not in love with any city or coast, really.

Will go anywhere.

Hey y'all. Happy week ten to all my fellow quarter sufferers.

Top piece is a quick 45 minute acrylic scribble of a bloodstained afghanistani soldier photogged by the amazing Steve McCurry, who I'm obsessed with.

Then... Me with Pirate, my fav horse. Then... dead me with my demon horse. yayyy.

And finally...

PICK UP A REPORTER MAGAZINE THIS FRIDAY. Because.

The AMAZING Joi Ong and I collaborated for the cover/feature, about the body falling apart due to stress.

She took beautiful photos of Gabi Ripka, and then I drew horrible things over the pictures.

After it's published, I'll post full photos, but here's some super pixellated teasers for now.

I'm getting more and more painterly/stroke-y... i think i like it.

Suggestions, help, etc. would be great. Landscapes are most definitely NOT my strong point.

I tried to bring a bit of the fiery colours into her complexion (it was very neutral/putty like before) without making her TOO alive looking... Eh, I'll probably just throw in more blood and gore.

This is how I feel about art. We're supposed to sum up our view of our work process in a sentence... Mine is... well... I feel it in my gut. I can't explain how I come up with stuff, I just kinda, vomit it on the page.

So. Bleah. Demon horse.

That top dude will be in my final digital mixed media project. He'll be popping out of my mouth. Aand... the rest are just doodling and ideas. Someday I might take the tree mother woman thing and actually do it... I sketched it during class tonight out of boredom.

And if anyone cares, I'm sketching out my summer.

Places I plan to go: San Diego, Quebec City, in and out of Roch and Ohio (home, cleveland, and cinci), NYC.

Places I wish I could go: Vancouver, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, aand well, Paris. Hah.

Things I'm gonna do art-wise: Learn to draw hands. Learn to draw feet. Figure out what I want to draw the rest of my life. Do a couple landscapes, and other things I hate doing.

Draw a lot. Get better at digital. Maybe sketch a building or two.

And read a ton. Because that's where most of my inspiration comes from.

... Like beating a dead horse.

I feel that this is maybe... 80% of the way there. God how I want to finish that extra 20% but I gotta get some other work done tonight.
