Been in a bit of a creative rut lately. Been working on some commissions and been doing work for work. Ended up in the hospital last week. So good at taking care of myself.

This is entirely from my brain. I didn't know he'd become covered in blood but.. i had a lot of lovely looking Cadmium Light Red to use and eh... it happened.

No photo reference. Couple hours, most of those hours spent watching Inception.

Nearly 1 am, but here's a post

this was for my mum's bday. she loves colin firth, and she loves cats. so i made the derpiest cat ever and stuck it in a rather grumpy mister darcy's arms.
acrylic scribbling. my reference was a ginger. not that that's important. but,.... yeah.
another zombie pin up nazi. may be a few more yet before we settle on a design/idea.

Hope all's well! I hope to keep arting, I'm slooowly catching up with a mountain of comissions... and i keep adding more.

Spent the weekend around old cars and great friends, and am realllly considering learning pinstriping. I'll be painting a pinup girl on my boyfriend's motorcycle soon, and depending how that goes, I might just jump into this auto painting biz.

Had a helluva time with Flash today. CS5 crashed and we had to upgrade to CS5.5, which wouldn't install. Soo... we roundabouted and made it work but I lost four hours of work >:(


Anyways... whilst it was effing about I doodled Blondie again as usual.

More zombie nazi chicks for a thingaroo I'm workin' on. Probably be a lot more in the future here too.

Hullo all. My first week of work was awesome. I'm really enjoying what I'm doing and excited to learn more.
I can't wait to move downtown. I went to the public market in downtown Roch yesterday and am soooo ready to bring home fresh produce/bread/wine like I used to when I was in Paris. Oh man. It's going to be so fantastic. I'll also be right by my studio in the Hungerford Building and will be able to spend a LOT more time there. Tonight I just hung out there for 2 hours.

Aaand it's 2:30 something a.m. and I'm finally getting around to painting some more.

yeahh yeahh, there's my demon horse silhouetted in there. Yep.

Lot more work to do.

Suggestions, help, etc. would be great. Landscapes are most definitely NOT my strong point.

I tried to bring a bit of the fiery colours into her complexion (it was very neutral/putty like before) without making her TOO alive looking... Eh, I'll probably just throw in more blood and gore.

Any suggestions for a background? i'm awful at this.

I was also considering having some skin ripped off for muscle/gross stuff to show through, like my demon horses.

still gonna fix her arm, mess with her hair/horns more, fix the clothes/skin, and add more blood/tearstains.

I wanna do this one right.

my next one. I was at a bookstore today, pouring though art magazines and architecture magazines. I found this photo series of people made up like (i think in haiti) zombies. And this one photo really hit me. So I'm painting her, and changing stuff so the only thing I"m really copying is the face and idea. We'll see. shell probs become a voodoo priestess.

and that quote explains a lot of why i do art. and why a lot of artists are insane.

also, staring at stars is a great thing to do.

EDIT: i had a breakthru with the blue guy i painted. and i've updated this post 3 times now. because I. Can't. Stop. Painting. I"m so excited i could pee!!!!!
