Hi guys! look! i can still paint realistically!
This was a lot of fun. Digital. about.... 4hours. I had some downtime at work and this is what happened. There's definitely some places for improvement, but for not painting realistically in a reeeallllyyy long time, I'm really happy with the result.
I feel like this is my most successful use of color so far. I'm always learning.
big oops though- i painted it pretty much on one layer in photoshop. i hear some places that is a nono. :/
Woop!

Chevy and Nixon
here's a quick 40 minute practice of a new technique. scribbled with pencil then wouldn't let myself use opaque paint. just layered a lot of acrylic washes. man, it's hard to not just slap down the paint i want to. Eh, it's a start. Young Chevy Chase.
COuple scribbles from my "research" in the art books in the RIT library. I could spend years in there and still never get bored. nixon and the exxon valdez tiger.

I've decided for mine it's gonna be two pieces, of two reverends. One, Reverend Horton Heat. THe other? Reverend Peyton of Reverend Peyton and the Big Damn Band. They're ace. Check 'em out. And his beard rocks. Speaking of which... here's two MAYBE 5 minute scribbles I did of him. Gonna do more studies before I actually paint him and the other rev.
